A regular professional headshot has room to flatter. An actor headshot doesn’t, because the point is that when you walk into an audition room, you should look exactly like the photo that got you called in. Overly retouched, flattering-angle, or outdated photos work against you the moment the door opens.

That doesn’t mean the photo shouldn’t look good, it should. It means the skill is capturing you at your most natural and alive rather than smoothing you into something generic: energy behind the eyes, a genuine expression rather than a held one, and a crop that reads clearly as a thumbnail and at full size.

That’s why we shoot actor sessions differently: less retouching, more direction toward a real, unguarded moment, and enough range across looks, not five versions of the same photo, that you leave with options that actually cover what you’re submitting for.
